Words of Gratitude

Asia Oceania Region International Association of Ports and Harbors has successfully undertaken its annual meeting event, dubbed “The 10th Asia Oceania Regional Meeting and Port Forum” in Bandung, Indonesia on 3-5 February 2010 and chosen the topic of “Improving Ports Productivity, Emerging Markets”. An event that was attended by no less than 280 participants from member countries in the region was inaugurated by Director General of Sea Transportation Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Sunaryo.

In this opportune moment, on behalf of Indonesia Port Corporation I, II, III, and IV, allow me to express our sincere and deepest gratitude to all participants, Government of West Java Province, Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, and last but not least, Secretariat General of IAPH. The event would not run as we all expected it to be without their full participation, support, generosity, and guidance.

Speakers, Chairmen, and participants showed that their presence is meaningful, by conducting a dynamic port forum that covers issues such as: Regulatory Framework and Port Strategies, Economic Recovery and Emerging Trends in Maritime Sector, and also Marine Environment and Safety. They saved no reserve in sharing their experience, expertise, and best practices.

I firmly belief that IAPH’s contribution in ports sector remains of great advantage for global economy, and for that Indonesia commits itself to fully endorse the activities of IAPH for the betterment of ports sector that I believe will, in turn, bring prosperity for all the people and we have plenty of resources to make it possible.

May our friendship and amicable relationship ever stronger and see you all in forthcoming activities and events of IAPH.

Warmest regards,

R. J. Lino
Managing Director of Indonesia Port Corporation II
